We're Opening a New Bar in Uptown!

2Bears Tavern Uptown Will Occupy the Former Nick’s on Wilson Space and Provide an LGBTQIA+, Dog-Friendly, Neighborhood Atmosphere in Uptown.

2Bears Tavern Group is excited to announce we will be opening 2Bears Tavern Uptown in the former Nick’s on Wilson space at 1140 W. Wilson Avenue! Located on the first floor of the FLATS’ “Bachelor” residential building, this LGBTQIA+ tavern will open in the fall and boast pinball, darts, seven TVs, eight rotating drafts, will be dog-friendly, and have a late-night tavern license.

The Wilson/Broadway area of Uptown is a great place for a neighborhood LGBTQIA+ tavern. The area is booming with a first-rate CTA station, Truman College, and more than 1,000 residential units coming in the next 18–24 months. We look forward to joining the new retail and entertainment projects including the Baton Lounge, Double Door and Chicago Market—a cooperative grocery—opening in the area, joining the great retail and dining options in the area.

2Bears Tavern Group is again partnering with architect and interior design firm d+k—the firm behind the redevelopment of 5025 N. Clark Street which houses Meeting House Tavern—to remake the space into a modern interpretation of a Jazz Era tavern, boasting tin ceilings, reclaimed wood and copper finishes.

2Bears Tavern Uptown will welcome everyone and is committed to supporting LGBTQIA+ and local charities, and sponsoring sports leagues and teams and charitable community events.

Customers will be welcome to bring in food or order it for delivery. 2Bears Tavern Uptown will feature everyday and daily specials, House Shots and classic cocktails, CBD beverages, a rotating selection of draft and bottled/canned beer and—like all 2Bears Tavern Group locations—will focus on value, camaraderie and fun!

We are very excited to be a part of a growing community and can't wait to open a new space for our neighbors, families and friends.

Stay tuned for more details coming soon!
